I love the John Jackson wake-up call in the morning in our business. Some of us need coffee, tea whatever it takes to perk you up first thing in the morning. For me it is the cup of leadership. This morning was no different except we all witnessed John tell a very heart rendering story about his dad who passed away 11 years ago and he became very emotional at one point as he fondly remembered his dad. There were many lessons to be learned from this story and I will share a few of the highlight moments of that call with you.

To summarise John Jackson's dad, he grew up on a small farm picking cotton with this other four brothers. He recalls stories of sweltering heat, sleeping on soiled sheets and sharing bread among his brothers. They were very poor. He was not regarded as being very academic and so held back in school. He played football, baseball and basketball and did graduate from school. He was given an opportunity to join an oil company and he had a phenomenal career in this industry as a safety chemical engineer. When he became successful there was resentment among his other brothers as he was regarded by society as being stupid. But he deserved the gold medal and 100% for action and this is how he will be remembered.
John Jackson's father was one of the 3% leaders and has had profound influence on John's personal success. The moral of this story is simple. You don't have to be smart to be successful. It's about taking action. To succeed you need to take bold, decisive action to get the best results. There is a quote "dogs don't bark at parked cars".
In our great community there is tremendous opportunity in a time where the world is saying we can't succeed. With all the expert training offered from every source, our success is going to depend on the action we take to make that success real. All the top leaders are routing for us and want all our members to be successful but the simple fact is the answer to our success lies within ourselves, our belief, our persistence, will and the action on a daily basis in our business.
John's message this morning was simple. Go out to the world and get barked and do something for somebody in the knowledge of knowing they can never repay you .I am going to take a leaf out of Johns story and take action right now.
